I am searching for recommendations from people to buy a decent machine to scan documents. I am in the need to scan lots of pages and this will be the case for the foreseeable future. I normally scan 2 to 10 pages in the same document, and this happens several times a week. I used to use a hp C6280 but the manual scanner (page by page) was killing me and out of the blue, the machine died so I need to replace it.
My first choice (since I already have a brother ethernet laser printer) would be a standalone scanner with OCR and with the automatic document feeder (ADF) for the multi-pages jobs.. The problem is that they are rather expensive, I couldnt find a model that fulfill my requirements for less than $300 which is WAYY too expensive for me.
Any recommendations between all-in-one machines AND ADF scanners?
My requirements are more or less:
-ability to scan multi-pages with an auto feeder (no need to feed manually)
-ethernet port (no wifi or USB)
-reliable brand (no HP!!!)
-double-sided scan (I dont want to fiddle with pages once scanned such as all odd pages scanned first, then all even pages...)
Not required but would be nice:
-legal scan format (8.5x14)
