Couple days back, I started a game as a Priest, on NAO
(nethack.alt.org), just because I didn't want to go through the trouble
of finding altars to identify B/C/U.

It started out just fine, and was shaping up to be quite the run,
actually, I kept my pet for basically the whole game, I started with
create monster and healing, and I had a coaligned altar on level 1 or
level 2, I can't remember which.

Down in the mines, I find a lamp. I rub it, on my usual whim. I get a
wish. What do I wish for? Blessed +2 Silver DSM.

My first mistake. And I only realized it when I entered Sokoban...
which was my eventual grave, but I digress.

In Minetown, I also had a coaligned temple. Thinking myself lucky, I
then get attacked by an owlbear right at the door. I try to kill it,
keep getting crushed by it... then I remember "E".

My first smart usage of E, yes. I had to write it in the dust with a
finger, though, but it worked well enough to get me into the sanctuary
of the temple.

I got hit by a polytrap, lost my robe, then prayed instead of payed for
something in Izchak's shop. Mistake, easily fixable with massive
offering, though, but, again, I digress...

I went through Sokoban, managed to clear it out, found out at the top
that I really should've wished for gray DSM instead. But, I never got
my prize. I got a little cocky at the treasure zoo, waded in, and
before you know it, DYWYPI?

This death? Absolutely preventable. I was just too sure of myself,
especially for a level 10 Priest with a mere rusty +1 mace.

But, I will perservere. I've learned a few things. I will press on,
and maybe even make it farther down next time.
