Looking for Laptop for Wife

I am looking to get my wife a new laptop to replace the disappointing Mini 1012 I got her last year.

1. What is your budget? $400

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15 inch?

3. What screen resolution do you want? Doesn't matter much.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable.

5. How much battery life do you need? 3 hrs.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Medium to High. Mostly Facebook games and such.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.) Movies, net surfing

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Not too important.

I also have a friend selling this. He wants $300. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion of the value and if it would be sufficient to do what I want. Am I better off new??
