In consdering my next system, i hadnt really thought of dual proc until recently. Mostly because its a waste unless you have software that can actually make use of it, which im getting more and more into. As i started to look around for what i wanted, i saw something that threw me off. Using the AMD 1.2 Tbird as an example, it has both a regular model and a MP (multi procc) model. The price for the MP is near double the regular. Do i hav to use the MP for dual procc unit, even better question, what the hell is the MP..? I never heard of it till now. In tlakin to some people, one suggested maybe it had diff cahce, or equated it to the Intel Xeon, also built for servers/dp. Maybe even a diff pin array. I DONT KNOW~! hehe
So, who can give me info about dualing an AMD system. Do i have to use the MP..? Are there reasons why i should use the MP if im not required too..?
Also any suggestions/opinions about which MB and chipset you prefer greatly appreciated~!
