I am looking to buy a something small/light like a netbook that I can connect to an external monitor or projector for presentations, movies, and similar multimedia content. I would like movies to be smoothly played and with acceptable audio if attached to an external amplifier.

I was looking at the Gateway LT 3120u, or the Asus 1201N (or 1201PN)

I don't care much about battery life, because I can keep it plug in. DHMI is a nice extra feature, but not indispensable (I don't need really high quality picture).

Any suggestion? Are those Gateway and Asus netbook good enough for my needs? Or any other suggestion?

I don't want to spend more than $450.

Hello netspiderz;

ASUS Eee PC 1215B Netbook $450
AMD Dual-Core E-350 (1.60GHz) CPU 2GB RAM 320GB HDD 12.1" 1366x768 LCD w/ HD 6310M graphics
A nice upgrade in CPU/GPU over the Atom/ION combo

ASUS Eee PC 1215T Netbook $380
AMD Athlon II Neo K125(1.70GHz) 2GB RAM 320GB HDD 12.1" 1366x768 LCD w/ HD 4250 graphics
