How to install win7 on compaq presario 2500 hdd not found

Hello,
i have a presario 2500 and i try to install win7.After the installation starts i get to a screen when the hdd is not found and asks for drivers.What drivers should i load and how? in order for win7 to find hard disk and start installing?

is there any iso dvd disk which has these drivers preloaded?

please help on how can i install win7 on this machine.

You shouldnt have to install drivers during a windows installation. Windows actually provides the basic drivers. Did you completely wipe the hard drive before you tried installing? If not try doing that.

Also are you trying to transfer windows from another prebuilt machine to this one? That won't work because windows is tied to the motherboard.

You may also want to go into the BIOS of the computer and make sure that the HDD configuration is set to AHCI.

i tried to install another version of win7 and then it worked!Now i cant find drivers for the ehternet,audio and pci modem and graphics card.Do you have any link to donwload them?

Compaq (HP) did not release any Windows Vista or 7 drivers for that computer. Their support for drivers only goes up to Windows XP.

You will have to download each driver from the component manufacturer's site and see if it works or not. The age of the unit is a key factor in something like this.

You can use either CPU-Z or Speccyhttp://www.piriform.com/speccyhttp://www.piriform.com/speccy to take the guess work out for you.

I know speccy it gives many hardware details about pc...so you can find third party drivers.
