I bought a new monitor:
http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VE247T/#specifi...
According to the specs: Digital Signal Frequency : 30~83 KHz(H)/ 50~76 Hz(V)

The spec sheet, under Supported Operating Modes, (in box) says @1920x1080:
Horizontal Frequency : 67.5KHz
Vertical Frequency : 60.0Hz
Pixel: 148.5 MHz

So can I reach 76Hz? meaning so I can achieve 76fps. A monitor rated at 60Hz will not be able to display beyond 60fps. That's why some choose to buy a 120MHz monitor. Well. Can I achieve 75fps using a DVI cable? Currently I have a Single Link DVI-D cable.

I don't think you can set games to run at a max of 75FPS unless you want to start tweaking game files. Depending on the game, you could just turn off the V-Sync and put it on settings that mean it'l have an average 65FPS.

I think I'm stuck at 60Hz max @1080p. Seems that if I dropped the resolution down to say..1280x1024 then I could reach a Vertical Frequency of 75Hz. (according to a chart that came in box) but its not worth sacrificing the eye candy. I'm quite impressed with the response rate of 2ms and it is damn impressive.

He already figured out the correct answer. 75hz is only available at lower resolutions, not at 1080p.
