RAID 0

I plan to set-up RAID 0 on my computer. I have two 40 GB harddisk drive, one is new and has no data on it and the other one is full. Is it possible to set-up RAID with my 2 drives without formatting the drive with data? Will this connection be better in performance than just setting up my drives as non-RAID master/slave?

formatting may not be needed but the moment you enable the disks in the raid array all your data will be wiped on both drives. since that is the case it is probably not a bad idea to fdisk and partition to get a clean start use the format C: /Q swtitch to save a lot of formatting time
