i just bought a pc with vista 32 bit with free upgrading to windows 7,
can i upgrade to windows 7 64 bit or only 32 bit?
what pros cons does 64 bit have?
thanks in advance :)
i got 6 gb ram btw

Solution
You will want the 64bit version to utilize all of your RAM. I am not sure if you are able to upgrade to W7 64bit from vista 32 though....
well, you won't be able to upgrade to a 64bit since you are on 32bit

but you still may be able to use the Windows 7 upgrade DVD to do a fresh install of the 64bit OS, it will ask you for the vista key (though you might be able to do this since you have an OEM key)

He has a free upgrade, I think what he wants to know is how to obtain it not buy it.
That will depend on who you purchased the pc from, you should have received something to say how to get your free upgrade, if not contact the people you purchased it from.
Read the fine print on these "free" upgrades apperently some are padding the shipping costs, I believe HP are free while some have very high shipping charges.
