Guys what will you suggest to me ...

Currently i am a colledge student, mostly I work on Visual C++ developing some MFC and STL applications. I have Celeron 600 -> 675 Mhz. I need a good stable and system that performs well in compile time, (in the future i will be using J++). Plus as every normal person I do play games occasionally. What path for upgrade you will suggest to me?


My current system:

Asus P3V133
GeForce 2 MX
PC133 512 memory SDRAM micron (2 x 256)
Celeron 600A -> 675 (75Mhz FSB)


Upgrade options (you migh suggest something else):

PIII 1000 Mhz 133 - 275$ CAN

OR ||


Tbird K7-1.0Ghz CPU (266 Bus) Rev-C Socket-A $135 CAN
KT7A FSB266, 3DIMM/6P/AGP4x /AGP4x/ATX $180 CAN


P.S:

What do you think about price cuts on P4? should i consider that?

Personally I'd say to just go with the P3. You can consider a motherboard+CPU upgrade sometime after.

If you want to spend more money, look at the P4. Any P4 solution will be an expensive upgrade, though.
