Hello,

I have four individual laptops I would like to consolidate into one HDTV with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I run Linux on half and Windows on the other half.

The best solution I have found has been using these wireless HDMI transcievers on each computer:

and conecting them all into a 4 port KVM with a wireless keyboard, like this one:

Is there a product that would do the same already being produced?

I would use a software KVM like Synergy, but I don't think it would handle the video correctly. I want to use just one HDTV with one keyboard and mouse to control 4 laptops that might be scattered across a room wirelessly. More complicated yet is the fact that half have HDMI, and the other half have VGA ports.

Anyone have any better (cheaper) suggestions?

Hanging all of those things off each other probably won't work well, KVMs like to not detect devices unless they are directly connected to them. Plus that KVM is not wireless, it has cords running to the computers. You are better off running one computer and using remote connections to the other ones.

I've been struggling with this too! My thoughts and experiences are found here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/67554-29-some-models-good-switches-2013 (more links there!).

Keep us informed, please?

Regards & Peace!
