ok, i just got my new system to work and i installed the detanator 12.9 drivers for my leadtek winfast geforce 3 and all my 3d applications are running like a geforce 1. I don't get it, i've tried different drivers and everything but something is not right.......one thing i did notice is that there was no driver listed under GART driver information, i don't know if there's supposed to be something there or not, but all i know is that my 3dmark 2001 score should be around 6000 at 800x600 x32 not 2300, please help me.

new system? If its and athlon with VIA chipset then make sure you install the 4-in-1 drivers.

i have an asus a7m266 mobo 1.4 ghz proc, leadtec winfast geforce 3, 512 mb ram, 2 60 gb 60 gpx hds, windows 2000. graphic programs do not run like a geforce 3 should run. One thing i noticed was that in directx setup agp texturing is greyed out for some reason, and there are no gart drivers, what is gart?

Reply to Kaliman

which one should i download, i have a "super south" south bridge system pciset VIA VT82C686B this model number is listed 5 different times at the site you gave me under Apollo KT266
Apollo KT133A
ProSavage KM133
Apollo KT133
Apollo KX133

which one do i have?

Reply to Kaliman

It's the same as the KT133a chipset's Southbridge.

are you sure i should download this, the main chipset on my asus a7m266 is a north bridge amd-761

Reply to Kaliman

the 4in1 drivers did jack [-peep-]. what the hell is going on? what should i do?

Reply to Kaliman

The VIA 4-in-1's won't load the drivers you need (well maybe, USB support but I'm not sure). For your northbridge you need the AMD drivers, including AGP. Get them here. Go for the AMD driver pack. Don't worry about having a Via soutbridge only drivers for which you actually have matching hardware will load. Drivers for missing hardware will simply be ignored.

Reply to phsstpok

You don't have any of those mobos, the one you've got is an AMD 761 chipset. Follow the AMD link in the previous post, and install those drivers, it should help.

thanks, that helped a lot, i'm still 300-500 points behind though, i downloaded pstrip 3.01 and it said that fast writes were disabled, i don't know what this means, but i think it should be enabled, and it is in the bios but not when it examines my video card

Reply to Kaliman

how do i enable sideband adressing and fast writes?

u dont need via 4 in 1 driver unless u have via chipset but u have a 760. so here the first thing this is a reg for overall amd owners with win2k make sure u have this http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon-duron/amd_win2k_patch.html
and this i beleve these are for owners with 760 chipset these driver should do the trick i think the ones your looking for are the AMD Driver Pack, Version 1.20 or Windows® 2000 AGP Driver try both i think the first is everything including Windows® 2000 AGP Driver http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/ let me know how everything turns out

You can enable the fastwrite in the bios. The default setting is =disabled= because its more stable that way.
Also are you using DirectX 8.0?

Couple of simple checks:

Make sure vsync is always off

Make sure anti-aliasing is off.

Can't we all just overclock?

I know what you can do to fix your problem.

Tell everyone you got 7500, then fail to post links to mad onion due to a lack of email address. THEN, AND THIS IS THE HARD PART. LET THE THREAD DIE AND NEVER REPLY TO ANYONE WHO CHALLENGES YOU, THAT WAY YOU DONT HAVE TO ADMIT BEING A FRAUD.

oh, im sorry, thought your name was FUGGER.

hehe, hey guys, i think i fixed the problem........3d mark 2001 score: 1024x768 32bit 5769!! apg drivers fixed most of it, and service pack 2 added another 800 points, this is the [-peep-].

Reply to Kaliman

Good score. When fugger comes, and he will, and says he got 7500, and your score sucks. Tell him to go back to his bridge, where trolls belong.

here is my score

http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?1428814

I just got my 256 megs(soon to be 512) of pc 166 dram and now I am running 150fsb at cl2, with a 10x multiplier, and that Is my new score. Knocked the agp down to 2x, lost 50pts, but 100% stable. AND I could get the ram clock back to 530 without giants crashing! Add to this the new faster fsb and processor and a net gain of 250 pts, a hair away from 6500. Wait till the det 4's come out woo hooo!

PS: FUGGER, we are still waiting for those links liar.

Guys, what did you all install, as I am having the EXACT same problems with the EXACT same setup? The AMD driver pack and the via 4-1's right?
