I'm almost done building my new gaiming rig - AMD 2100+ GF4 4400, upgrading from a PII 333MHz. I'm just wondering what FPS I should get hooked on first...

-Return to Castle Wolfenstien
-Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
-Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

Multiplayer doesn't matter...I'm holding out till UT2003

Get either Wolfenstein or Mohaa.
Wolfenstein is darker than Mohaa, if you fancy a mix of nazis with big guns and various kind of monsters trying to bite your head of you should get that first.

If you feel like playing a game that is somewhat more "down to earth" you should get Mohaa.

Oh well, if you spent that much on a new computer, why not strike now and buy all of em´?

Hmmm, on second though...maybe you just spent your last money on that rig...get Wolfenstein!

Okay i'm gonna have to blow a whistle on this one, SoF 2 is MUCH prettier than either of those=) Though if your looking for the best gameplay i'd go with Medal of Honor as its pretty damn goodlooking. For the best mix of graphics and gameplay i'd pick JK2. So its all up to what you want. With JK2 you have to put up with nasty puzzles and with SoF2 you have to put up with insanely hard AI even on novice settings, the computer cheats madly in SoF2. JK2's AI is kickass. MoH has working AI but nothing to get excited about and is the least of the 3 games i've mentioned graphicall in my opinion.

Basically, just pick one and be happy. Or wait for UT2003 which'll blow em all away graphicall and with AI and of course, Multiplayer-)

I've never played SoF2, but I have RTCW. I have this to say. I did not like it whatsoever. I thought it was way to fictional and the weapons are Doom-like. Kinda unrealistic. The graphics weren't that great (although that could be cause I was playing it on 640x480x16 on my PIII600E with a GF2MX) MOHAA I've neverplayed, but looks quite nice, gameplay seems to be more realistic than RTCW, although you still don't die from one or two shots.

Hmm, RTCW seems relatively realistic at 1024*768*32 at maximum detail with Truform on and 2X AA and Anistropic filtering.

No, no, I mean the story line and weapons.

Ive played RTCW and its ok stuff... It has it parts when it can really get you on the edge of your seat and any game that can do that is good in my opinion. I was not the biggest fan of JK2 but that is just me... I havent played MOHAA.

But hell yea on that UT2003. The demo isnt much as far as playing and the models are ugly as hell but the environments are pretty and that game is going to kick much ass... Cant wait for the real demo...!!!

ive played all three. i finished RTCW and MoHAA and I am about 3/4 of the way thru JK2. Heres my take...
MoHAA - my personal favorite out of the three. the beach level alone warrants getting this game. Excellent and realistic graphics and weapons. very realistic except for the weak damage system.
RTCW - this is my second fav. graphics are on par with MoHAA. this is ww2 with a scifi twist. better story line and slightly more involving than MOHAA. moderate amount of puzzles. and if multiplayer is important to you then this is a better buy than MoHAA. these two are nearly neck and neck.
JK2 - Awesome graphics. interesting story. great gameplay. lightsaber battles are cool as heck. im sure sure why this is last on my list but it just hasnt sucked me in like MoHAA and RTCW. its taking me forever to play thru it cause i never feel drawn to it... i get fed up with all the freaking puzzles in this game too... this game has way too much emphasis on puzzles imo... it totally slows down an otherwise action packed game.

havent played sof2 yet so i cant comment on it... any of those three you mentioned are great choices so dont stress out about it... gl hf!

Thanks for the respones! I ended up buying RTCW since I've loved every game that's come out from id. I think I'll get MoHAA later...I've seen the playstation 2 version and it looks sweet, but I'd imagine it would only look better on the PC. As far as SOF2, I played the first one but wasn't impressed with it. The body parts flying off was cool, but the game play and environments didn't excite me that much. Maybe that's changed in the new version.
