i just got a PIII 1GHZ processor here in germany over the net...its not boxed and it looks quiet wierd
there is no large intel logo on it#s back, just this:
on one end is written: Intel m c '01 Costa Rica 1000/256/133/1.75v
and on the other end writtrn: 31113A563-0211 Pentium III 5L52R
i cant test it before i go home to my country in another 2 weeks.......is it ok??....i called the shop it says its a 1GHZ EB....though i thought 1GHZ only comes as 1GHZ B
Any help would be great
PS..i have a TUSL2-C mobo for it
Just accept that Intel is cutting down on Manufacturing costs, looks like there saving money by not printing there Logo on the backside =) j/k
You have to test it once you go back in 2 weeks, or find a friend around where u r now that has a Coppermine P3 computer and swap ur CPU in there to test it...

I'm pretty sure you're okay... I just replaced my old Pentium III 600 with a new 933 that I ordered online, and I noticed the difference in appearance. The new one is doing just fine, and CPUID confirms that it's genuine. As it turns out, the darker green coppermines with the Intel logo are now found in the retail box. What you and I ordered is the OEM flip-chip. Should work just fine.
There is no 1GHz B, the "B" was the old Katmai Slot 1 processor that topped out at 600B, essetially a factory overclocked 450.
There are only 1000E's and 1000EB's. The E indicates it's a Coppermine chip. The B as usual indicates a 133 bus. The 1000E is a fairly rare chip used for upgrades on older servers and such, while the EB is the more common variety.
Your 1.75v core indicates that, as usual, Intel is overclocking again. Standard voltage was 1.65v, but do to low yields, Intel bumped it up to 1.70v (and called it a new stepping) and now 1.75v. It should work well but may produce more heat than the now standard 1.70v version. It is not a Tualatin (aka Coppermine-T).
