I'd really like to know what iDCT settings were used for these tests as they show the P4 in a whole different light than the testing done @ anandtech where they used MMX iDCT (that's what most people use). The auto-selection shows the Athlons in a much worse light due to the use of the rather slow 3dnow iDCT. And if you insinst on IEEE high precision iDCT you can use Miha's iDCT which is faster than the "optimized" iDCT plugins for both Intel and AMD processors.

Im guessing Tom uses the MMX iDCT for Pentiums and AMD x87 iDCT for Athlons (go figure).
