What kind of socket processor are we talking about???
Would it be possible to use it in socket 478 motherboards??

Unless Intel really screws up, it will be possible to use Northwood in Socket478 motherboards. In fact, that's what Socket478 motherboards are really designed for--the Northwood. Intel started packaging the current P4 in Socket478 to ease the transition between two different socket types.

wtf are you talking about? afaik, Intel has no plans to change sockets for each stepping. what a ridiculous statement.

Haha, that would be funny if that happened. Then you would have to change the CPU and the motheroboard everytime you want to upgrade the processor!
