XP has been running fine for the last 4 or 5 months but the last few days it had been locking up occasionally(possibly unrelated, I'm not sure) and now it won't load. The system posts fine and then it goes through the black WinXP loading screen and then it goes to the blue loading screen (with the winxp logo in the middle and I think an orangeish line across the top and bottom of the screen) and it just sits there. The mouse pointer is there and I can move it and it never "freezes" but it just sits there for a long time with some occasional HD activity but nothing else happens. I checked the HD using the WD utility disk and I swapped out the ram just for kicks. Anyone know whats up??? Thanks.

XP = Win2K w/o the pretty stuff :) ...and I suppose XP has about 4 or 5 less service packs!

just give it some time and it will catch up

my only complaint about 2k is the slow load time...but hopefully I never have to restart this computer.
