i just installed the processor in my abit kg7 mobo. the board has a temperature detection thermistor. the processor rocked very slightly when it was seated but not locked. i realized that it was rocking on top of the thermistor. it is barely touching it but there is contact. my question is, should the processor be coming in contact? the thermistor is blue and it put a tiny blue stripe on the bottom of my processor. will this damage the processor or the sensor? if they should not come in contact can i safely bend the thermistor?
when you push the cpu into the cocket, you should have to push down a little bit, then close the clamp. The thermistor is where you get your cpu temperature from, so if it doesnt touch the bottom of the cpu, then the temp will be miles out.
You can bend it no probs, just dont keep bending it backwards/forwards for too long or it will break in half just like any metal wire will.
