A few weeks back, someone here was looking for RPG mapmaking
software and fractal terrain generators.

Today I again located one of the major archives of freeware and
shareware software forgotten for several years. While many of
these programs are older, they all work well can many can be
easily adapted for modern RPG games. In addition, some of this
software has great details which can significantly contribute to
making good storylines for your campaign.

Thanks, Dirk. The RPA software looks mildly interesting, but I don't
think I'd be willing to pay $18 just because I want to use only half of
what they offer. The other stuff definitely looks interesting, though.
