just bought a cpu last week..1ghz...PIII...on an TUSL2-C...but today i got an offer...PIV 1.7 GHZ 478 pin ..both processors are the SAME price!!!!!but the only MB i could find is the one with the intel 845 chipset that only accepts sdram....all in all...for the same price i can get a PIV 1.7 GHZ with sdram for the same price of a´1GHZ PIII with sdram also...so which should i go for guys.....help pls urgent....i have to close the deal in about 4 hours

Go for the 1ghz P3 unless you can find a ddr333 motherboard for a P4 478pin.

I would take the P4 over the P3 ONLY IF the price was close, I would not pay alot more for the P4. Also make sure teh board will support the newer P4 cores so you have a nicer upgrade path..........

Also the other option is to return the P3 and get an Athlon...hehe =)

unfortunately..all athlons r sold out....so should i go for the P4....its not boxed and i'll have to get a new cooler and ram

If you are going to have to get a new mb, proc, ram, and cooler then I would definately go AMD, but I don't know if you can just return your proc. If not then it really depends on how much you want to spend.
