I'm considering using my old 15" CRT monitor as a second display. But beforehand, I want to know the max resolutions it's capable of. In the past, I always set it to 1024x768 @60Hz.

So I set the CRT up on an XP SP3 desktop, and opened the Display Settings:

Surprisingly, the 2048x1536 resolution is available with refresh rate up to 200 Hz. However, I dare not try those highest settings since I'm a bit skeptical that such an old monitor can pull it off.

So, what do you guys think? Are those settings feasible? And is it safe for me to try it?

According to http://www.thescreamonline.com/technology/monitor/monit... the best resolution is 800 x 600 but it is still good at 1024 x 768.
