I want to put the old SATA hard drive from my laptop into a N64 cartridge and use it as an external hard drive. I need a converter to change it to USB, but it needs to be small enough to fit inside the cartridge; and I can't see from the pictures online how big they are. Can someone who knows the sizes of both give me a link to a small, cheap converter that will fit? (I know the hard drive will stick out of the bottom and I don't want it to stick out of the side too.)

why? for aesthetics?

i wouldnt. a full case around the hdd such as in portable enclosures protects it from harm be it static discharge, dust, minor spills and physical trauma.

your best bet would be to buy a cheap ($5 or so) hdd enclosure for a 2.5" drive and strip out the components to use. personally i would just leave the drive in the case.
