Watch tv on laptop without internet

How can I watch TV channels on Laptop without internet connection, while I am away from home?

the only thing you can do without internet is get a USB or other (card slot based on what ever your notebook has) DTV Tuner card.
and an antennae. depending on where you are away from home you could get zero to ~ channels. no way to know although there are some resources out there- google DTV OTA channel and the name of the place you will be- should be able to get an idea what is available.
side note- the cheap cards are generally not good. find something in the middle ground on newegg or other and you should be OK.
