Hello Community!
Some time ago, my good old Palm IIIx died after falling on the
floor...
:"(
I'm now using an old Palm III with 2MB instead.
Well, I know that there are very cheap offers at ebay but I am student
and can't afford them yet.

So, my problem is, that 2MB is not enough memory for the software I am
using. And I can remember that there exists a small programm with
which you can use free space on the ROM where Palm OS is stored.

Does anyone know the name of the programme?
I couldn't find it on palmgear.com and pdassi.de

(Or does anyone have a working Palm display for the Palm IIIx at
home?)

Any ideas of getting more memory without paying more than 10€?

Thanks!
Oliver

The III series was known for the screen connector being dislodged in a
fall. Open the IIIx and reconnect the screen cable.

The progies you seek are JackFlash and JackSprat;

I'm not sure, but you might be able to put the III's screen in the IIIx.
I know you can put a IIIx screen in a III, so the cables should be
compatible.

Well, the glass of the display is broken, so that doesn't work.

That's a quit interesting idea. I opened the Palm yesterday and it
should be easy to change the display. I will try the next days.

There is also a memory chip cliped on the back side of the Palm III.
Maybe it is possible to use the memory chip of the Palm IIIx instead.

Hi!
I've changed the Display. So now the PalmIII display is working in my
PalmIIIx. This works fine.
There was only one error when starting DateBook5. I got the message
"Failure Getting Size". However after the message DateBook was working
fine.

I also tried to use the memory chip on the back of the PalmIII and put
it into the PalmIIIx. But this produced a "Fatal Exception".
Does anyone knows, where to get cheap memory chips for my PalmIIIx?

The PalmIII display is not as good as the PalmIIIx display. So if
anyone has an old unneeded PalmIIIx with a working Display please
contact me.

Thanks for your help!
