I have an internal 2T drive, I have 1134 folders directly on the drive. If I add more folders they or other folders dissappear, haven't looked into which folders yet, when i shut the computer down. So it won't let me have more than 1134 folders. Is this a limit on how many folders can run off a hard drive letter, like E:

Thanks

there have always been limits on the number of directories available in the root drive, this is one of the reasons for sub directories.

So is there any limits on sub directories? And have the missing folders and files gone completely?

as far as I am aware, no....In dos there wasnt, just the root. (i'd assume a throwback for backward compatability) as far as the existence of the missing directories I'm not sure.
