I've got a Creative Annihilator 2 (Geforce 2 32 meg DDR) and since I installed windows 2000 it causes my computer to crash within a minute of loading counterstrike when i have hardware acceleration enabled. I downloaded the newsest drivers from nvidia and creative and it didn't help. any ideas?

You probably have an Athlon processor and haven't yet purchased and installed a cold fusion power supply. Make sure you have a Power supply that offers at the very least 350 watts.

A couple possible issues here:

AMD chipset requires the AMD AGP patch to run 3D apps correctly. http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/bin/

VIA chipset requires the VIA 4-in-1 patch installed. Latest official version is 4.32v. http://www.viahardware.com/download/index.shtm#agp

You might need a better power supply. If you're not doing a sick amount of hard drives, 300W is usually fine as long as it is an AMD approved PSU. http://www1.amd.com/athlon/power

Let us know how it goes.

Check out my rig:

The cold fusion part was indeed a joke and not intended as a flame. I do not lack a sense of humor. ;) However, the 350 watt power supply was some real advice. I figure if I'm going to offer advice geared toward AMD users, I should be allowed to add a few jokes! =)

If you are downloading them now, I take it they werent installed before, chalk it up to another non driver update issue. It should run fine after the neccicary drivers are installed.
