I have a laptop with Win2K, but they did not provide the Win2K CD or setup disks. Is there a way to create a bootable win2k floppy without the original disks.

If you have Win9x you can make a boot disk and use that, or check here. I’m not sure what good it will do you if you don’t have any CDs though boot disk

In the event that a mess up a driver really bad and cannot boot from the hard disk, I would like to be able to boot from a startup disk and recover older versions of the registry and system files.

If things go really tits up there are a number of things you can do.

Firstly you should backup every now and again, i use the windows built in backup tool, or you can use norton ghost.

then there is the windows repair feature on the win2k cd, also very useful. and you can boot to the command prompt from the cd if you can remember the administrator password (but you must have a password, i tried it once with a blank as a password and it didnt work)
