I have a SOYO 6VBA133 motherboard and I use a CELERON 433MHz processor using a FCPGA connector.I was interested in buying the new 1000MHz CELERON with 100MHz FSB,till I saw in SOYOS site that my MB doesn’t support it.So,I would like to ask you if this is the case because it is a slot 1 motherboard and if so ,can my FCPGA connector be the solution to the problem? If I can use the new CELERON would it be necessary to upgrade my BIOS(AWARD 4.51PG,11/4/1999)?
Thank you in advance
If your motherboard can provide a 133MHz FSB, you might wan to consider that 866 like the last guy said, or a PIII 700 overclocked to 933/133 would be the best value. The PIII 866 gives better performace than ANY Celeron, the 933 better yet, and you can save money by getting the 700 and making it 933. But if you REALLY NEED the LOW performance of the 1GHz Celeron simply for bragging rights (so you can tell your buddies its a GHz machine), it should work.
