I dont want your shitty program, understand!?

How do I get XP to understand that I really don´t want to use their shitty built in picture showing program but instead use ACDSEE?
I have checked file asociations (tricky word) both in XP and in ACDSEE but it still insist on showing them in that silly program.
Can I uninstall the 'built in' program?

Please help before I blow something up...

Have you tried "open with...", then selecting ACDSEE and checking "always use this program"?

I know it sucks to behave like that!
But to this for a quick solution...
Open the command prompt and type:

regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll

Now.. start any viewing program and set the default filetypes as you wish..
