I have a K6-2 400 with some cheap Hercules video card with a ancient Rendition chip on it. I get good results. It boots, fires up Windows, creates word documents, and spreadsheets quite well.

Blah, Blah Blahh, Blahh, blahh blah blahh, blah blah.

Until a couple months ago, I had a K6-2 550MHz system. I ran it with a Savage4 16MB card for most of the time I had it, but I also had a Radeon 32MB DDR card in there for it's last few weeks. Even though no socket7 boards support AGP4X, I did notice a speed and quality increase when playing games on the Radeon vs. the Savage4. The system ran every game I ever put onto it including Half-Life/Counterstrike, Unreal, Tribes 2, etc. In order for them to run well, I would have at least 128MB of RAM.

got an el cheapo vanta lt 8mb in mine. this is obvious, but get a card with more ram...

k6-2 500 @ 560. runs fine for everything except hi-res 3d games. 640x480 is ok though cos the card's doing the work. I wouldn't buy one new unless you're trying to save on the cost of a new mobo. duron stomps it for not much more money.

i have a K6-II 350 running at 425, a 500 at 570 and a 400 at 400. no problems with them till date.

they have one of the cheapest cards like SiS6215 that do a fine job of running the display and nothing more. the 570 one has a old Dimond Viper V330 with Riva128/4 MB! Runs great!!

i did have the infamous win95 boot problem when i first got the 350, but soon found the patch to windows on the MS site and thereafter it was a breeze!

there are many more satisfied K6-II users around...
