Gator software is really pissing me off with their stuipd banner. I do not want to remove Imesh, is it possible to remove just the gator software?

call in that croc/gator/snake/whatever chasing aussie, he always get so excited about animals on tv, even when he almost turn into some croc lunch :lol:

Ad Aware is no longer an effective tool. I agree that Sptbot is currently the best spyware removal tool. Ad Aware claims to be working on a new program, but in the mean time has abandoned the current one. Spyware definitions are now 4 months old.

I'm not sure how comfortable I am using spybot when it says "use at your own risk" at the top of the window. Some of the stuff it finds is related to my nero burning program; I don't think I would want to delete something like that....I don't want to have to think about every file it finds...I just want to scan it and delete BAM!!! I'll wait for the next adaware to come out....

<b>Any</b> software is to be used at your own risk. And the extra things it finds is actually recent logs and folders that you've used...and people can see where you've been if you share the computer. At the least, the red-colored text is already checked, so you can just leave it as is when it's done checking and click "Fix selected problems". If you really wanna wait for the next Ad-Aware, it's up to you. But IMO, since Spybot S&D is actually getting updated, I wouldn't.

I agree. Any spyware removal program has the potential to harm your system. Whether or not the warning is posted is irrelevant. One nice thing about Spybot is that it DOES list things that aren't malicious spyware so you can at least keep an eye on what your system is doing.

By default, Spybot does not remove anything from your system that isn't confirmed spyware, just like Ad Aware. If you don't select any of the "extra" green items then it will leave them all alone. I just scan my system, then click "fix selected problems". Doing that removes exactly what Ad Aware would if they had offered any updates in the last few months.
