Hello,
I have two HDD that used to be in a D-LINK DNS323. I have windows 7 on a laptop. I have a HDD to USB converter to connect the drive to the laptop. How can I actually read the data from the HDD. I can't put them back in the DNS 323 because they will be formatted. If I remember right the drives were 1TB with 500 MB designated as RAID1. Most data was on the RAID 1 volume.

Hi

I looked at a review of dlink_dns323
www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/dlink_dns323/

which confirmed RAID 1 option is a mirror with same info on both disks (much easier to recover than RAID 0)

Operating system is Linux

format EXT2

Do you have means to read Linux disks ?

I would try eSATA which is faster than USB 2 and Parted Magic CD
BUT some NAS use non standard Unix so I would do more research if important data is on those disks.
