okay, this has been going on for a while, and i had the problem once before, but nothing do seems to help.

a friend of mine accidentally yanked the power cable out of my computer while booting which damaged windows and forced me to re-install, anyhow, i formatted my drive, re-installed windows xp, then installed the detonator 41.09s, and finally the VIA Hyperion 4.45s. Only problem is, no games work. i tried Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and Unreal Tournament 2003, neither of which worked. Both would crash back into windows. Now if i didnt install any video drivers, the games would work so long as i didnt raise the detail level. any ideas? anything i left out?

ive installed windows 8 times in the last 3 days, im desperate for any help/advice anyone can give me

oh heres whats in my computer
(in case any of that helps)

You did not mention whether you cleared and reset the CMOS setup, If the Power Cord was snatched out in the boot sequence it may have affected the CMOS, or the M/Bs BIOS itself.

Clear and reset the CMOS if you haven't already.
Run Memtest on the RAM to see if its malfunctioning get the program from the utilities section at http://www.bootdisk.com.
Factory recertify your hardrive, and run Diagnostics and a Low Level Format on your hardrive, you can get that through Bootdisk also if you don't already have a diagnostics disk for your hardrive.
Try swapping out the power supply, with a known good one, it could of been damaged.
If your M/Bs chipset was damaged, well I believe you know the answer to that one, as a long shot and last resort effort, reflash the BIOS with the last BIOS flash you used.

Details, Details, Its all in the Details, If you need help, Don't leave out the Details.
