The "Heat Video" is cool (no pun) but I've got a couple of questions:
In segment #1 (Intel P4@2000; Socket 423) the CPU's video returns as soon as the heat sink is replaced but the fan is not spinning. What's up with this?
In segment #3 (AMD Athlon 1400; Socket 462) the video dies as the heat sink is removed and I suspect that some mechanical damage might have happened at this moment in time. Any thoughts?
Being an X-Files watcher, I seem to see conspiracies everywhere. So when I saw the fan spinning when removed then not spinning when replaced, I was wondering if I was watching an Intel sponsored "commercial".
The reason the fan was not working was most likely because the entire motherboard was fried. Its not likley that a CPU could get that hot and not do extensive damage to entire motherboard. If I remember correctly he sayed the MB was toasted as well, well don't expect a fan plugged into a toasted MB to work. Was a great demonstration, but shouldn't scare anybody away from AMD. The only thing you can take away from it is not how bad of a Thermal Solution the AMD CPU's had, but how great of a thermal solution the Intel processors have. Even you AMD guys can't deny that.
There are two theories to arguing with women........neither of which work.
Wait I figured it out. The reason he is so pissed off is because intel is dicking him hard. I mean when you look at it intel has the technology to compete with athlon clock for clock. But the continually put out subpar processors just to make some extra dough. They screw their users by making them buy new motherboards when they want to upgrade. If that isn't enough to make you mad I don't know what is.
