[Solved] Windows 7 Hangs after login, stays on welcome screen

Hello,

My laptop hands at the Welcome screen...has done this before once or twice, but today it does not straighten out after restarting.

I am not tech savvy...plus I am 70 years old and skittish about trying some of the suggestions I read on here

I have a relatively new laptop...maybe a couple of years old.

If you can go for a windows reinstall
Does windows boot up in safe mode
Try booting up in safe mode and uninstall any software installation you did before this problem started.

Thanks, but I had not installed any new software. Unless it was a mess up in updates or upgrades.

We have experienced this also, we tried going into safe mode, then try doing a system restore.
After that it worked well! thanks!
