Hey all, got a question. I have a Gigabyte ga 7zxr board. I want to go from a Thunderbird 900 to a 1.4 The 1.4 266's are cheaper than the 1.4 200's, so if I can run the 1.4 266 on my board, I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks, plus when I upgrade the board later, I already have the 266 version. What do ya think? Also, I have a global win fop 38 hsf. Is that good enough for a 1.4 266? I do not overclock...

Yes, but you will have to change the multiplier to 14, some motherboards do not go that high. Most if not all athlon 1.4 tbirds come unlocked, so you will most likely not need to do the pencil trick.(closing the l1 bridges). It is easier than it sounds, trust me. :)

Pop it in, in the bios change the multiplier to 14x100 and badabing, 1.4ghz goodness.
