Maybe I am just too naive but... ;-)

Since M$ has given up the wireless hardware business and won't likely add
new features to the products we all bought, it would be really nice if they
open source this thing so someone/group/company would be able to maintain
it.

What would be the most effective channel to send this request?

Out of curiosity, what do you think is "foolish"...

1. Open source projects
2. Someone being able to maintain this code
3. M$ giving something for free even when they've decided not to profit from
it
4. M$ listening to a request from someone who bought their hardware hoping
that it would last more than 2 years
5. All the above
6. None
