i bought a 1.4 athlon 266fsb processor in a retail box. i downloaded cpuid and found that it reads my cpu type as an "Original OEM Procssor". is this normal nomenclature for a retail boxed processor or did the vedor pull a switch and sell me an oem processor?

......

Um... your processor is fine. As long as you got the long term dealer warranty, that's what you paid for with the retail anyway.

so long as they honor the warantee and the writing on the core says 1400 C your fine.

if it says 1400 B or something else, THEN get shitty

funny that...
its like the PC100/PC133 ram prices. often find PC100 is more expensive than PC133. probably all about supply, demand and backwards compatibilty.
