Install CD/DVD to my windows 7

I use to be able to play CD/DVD to my computer but now I am no longer able to do it, what can I do to restore it.

Does your drive show up in explorer under Computer? For instance your hard drive is most likely C: and your CD/DVD might be D: or E:

Look in Device Manager and check it shows in there. Also check for any errors flagged in there. These are shown by a yellow exclamation mark or a red cross.

To open device manager hold the Windows key down and press R. In the box that opens type:
devmgmt.msc
Then press ok.
