I have installed Windows 7 RC Build 7100 on my PC. The computer worked flawlessly for about 7 days until it simply froze just before the windows logo started spinning (on the "Windows starting..." screen). It seems a CPU lock rather than OS lock (you can restart the PC by pressing CTRL-ALT+DEL). After the restart it opens the "Repair start up" menu, it attempts to repair it and it says "Startup repair cannot repair the computer automatically .... send don't send...".
The only way to solve the problem is by reinstalling the Windows (which is a pain in the ass).
As I said before this happens often (once a week or so). I can't remember what I was doing before it stopped working (I usually watch movies, listen to music or surf the internet). I have KIS 2010 licensed, which is receiving updates every hour.
My PC:
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 (Prescott core)
2x512MB DDR 400 Kingston RAM
ATI Radeon X1650
Seagate HDD
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to repair it without reinstalling the windows once a week...
Where did you get your copy? I've been running Win 7 RC, build 7100, and to my recollection the Windows logo does not spin at all during startup.
