I am hoping someone can help.

I have a Dell laptop Vostro 3350. It has been working fine for 2 years
In the middle of a windows update, the laptop was turned off.
When started again, it had errors on update and stopped.
Rebooted a few times but it always failed at the same point.
Tried rebooting and using the system restore and repair options.
It did get past the initial error point, but failed again further on.
Now it doesn't boot at all, I get the error of needing to plug in a bootable device.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to go with Brett on this one. It coming up saying you need to plug in a bootable device is a good indicator that the HDD has quit.

You can also run the DELL Diagnostics from the F12 menu and see if it passes the DST Short Test (which it probably won't)

Thanks Guys. I did the diagnostics, -no hard drive detected. I guess I will have to get a new Hard drive.
