Hi,

So my girlfriends Asus has an issue where it will disconnect itself from wifi and at the same time if anything sound is running from the computer, music or video. The audio will distort and she has to restart the computer to fix it, this only lasts a short time before it happens again.

She has tried updating the wifi and audio drivers and this didn't seem to help.

Any ideas? Thanks for any help/light people can shed on this in advance!

Sorry, excuse my lack of knowledge on this. What specs do you need/where do I get them?

That commonly refers to either of these things:
1) Full make/model # of the computer being used (usually only pertains to pre-built machines, such as yours, being an ASUS)
2) Components installed inside the computer (typically a custom built computer that you built or someone built for you)

With the computer being an ASUS I'm going to assume that it's either a laptop or desktop. Getting us the make/model # of it will help us help you better.

You can use either CPU-Z or Speccy to take the guess work out for you.

Has the computer been dropped or anything recently? (assuming again that this is a laptop based on the title of the thread)

Usually when those two things act the way they are consistently and together, it's an indication that something has come loose internally or something is on your computer that shouldn't be.

I would recommend running either MalwareBytes Anti-Malware or Super Anti-Spyware or even both to eliminate any viral or malware possibilities.

OK, thanks.

The model is an ASUS U56E laptop
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.
CPU: Intel Core i5 2410M @ 2.30GHz

RAM: 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 6665MHz

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer inc. U56E (CPU 1)

Graphics: Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Hard Drives: 596GB Western Digital WDC WD6400BPVT-80HXZT1 (SATA)

Optical Drives: MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8A2ASW
DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device

Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

would you need any other specs or will this do for now? I'll run the suggested software for now.

That should be good enough. Run both scans and see if it finds any (which it usually does) and then see if the issue continues. If it does, let us know and also let us know of any errors that you might be getting and we will proceed from there.

So my girlfriend ran both scans and all that was found was tracking cookies on Super Anti-Spyware which she deleted.

try updating the mb chipset..intel chipset drivers. if it not a damaged driver sounds like a mb issue. sound chipset on the mb and most wifi cards are the mini wifi cards.
