I gave a 2008 Dell Laptop that suddenly lost internet and wireless connectivity. I tried "restore" and several built-in solutions, but nothing works. The windows and regular computer function seems to be working normally
did you check that your wireless switch is in the ON position?
Did you do any hardware/software installations prior to disfunction?
Go to your device manager and check for identified faults.
Check event viewer for any red flags.
Is the laptop still on warranty? If it is I recommend you hurry up and call support so they can replace the wireless card in case it went dead.
Thanks. I'll try the wireless switch (think I tried this without success, but...I'll try again) I'll also look at device mgr and event viewer (I don't ever use these, but I'll figure out how to see them and look for problems).
As to warranty, I'm out of that - the laptop is 3 years old, worked very well, and is seldom used. It never had any serious problems until now.
