Did anyone feel like me, that the results from Tom's benchmarks are rather low for the XP1800 or as if it isn't as encouraging as we thought it would be? I mean he didn't include the other XPs which may help more in seeing performance results... It seemed there as if P4 2ghz still had more upperhand... And that the performance increase is more seen with TB1.4 to XP1800 rather than with its competitor.
On the other hand, anandtech's results with all XPs and all P4s together was really satisfying, it told me how much I expect from a XP 1600 and now I am convinced to get one soon.... as soon as I find a good economic but good mobo (see my other thread just posted before)

That's cause tom was using AMD760 chipset
and not a KT266A like Some other sites!
Not all hardware site were able to grab a KT266A
But <A HREF="http://www.Anandtech.com" target="_new">http://www.Anandtech.com</A> and <A HREF="http://www.Hardocp.com did!" target="_new">http://www.Hardocp.com did!</A>

If you are going to compare 2 different chips you should always do it on both chips best motherboards. Since they dont share motherboards this is the best and only way to be fair.

Or very close motherboards (P4X266 and KT266a, for example). If you're comparing platforms, then do it on the best (KT266a and i850, for instance).

Seems to be a recurring problem with benchmarks....always different setups. After seeing quite a few, you sorta just make your own opinion about it.

 Have you ever tried cooking an egg on your HSF? Tasty.
