I have a question about CPU temp. I have a AMD 1.33 and I've been having problems with apps dying on me. Someone told me to check the temp to see if maybe I was running too hot. Turns out it was at 53C, I know this is high but is it exceedingly high? I have a case fan and a Thermaltake on the CPU now, and to cool it down I took the side off my case and put a fan next to my machine. So my questions are:

Would the temp it was at be enough to cause things to crap out all the time?

What should my target temp be?

What can I add to cool things down?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

High temps dont usually cause apps to die, they cause hard lockups, I would look at my driver setup if I were you.

52C is not too terribly high.

What mobo etc do you have.

Sometimes its doing hard lockups other times just crapping out. I've been pouring over my drivers... The temp thing seemed to make sense because after I juryrigged my house fan to blow into the box it went down to around 35C and ran better.

I have a ECS K7AMA.
