Your going to have to check out the Alienware M18x, those other computers don't offer 32gigs of RAM.

Hope your ready to shell out for that.
Out of curiosity what do you NEED 32gigs of RAM for?? The only thing I can think of to use that for would be virtualization.

The Dell Precisions can also be upgraded with up to 32 gb of RAM. However, It's an $8K upgrade....

------------------------------ Tablet: Asus Transformer TF101|NVidia Tegra 2| 1gb RAM| 32gb Solid State|10.1 WXGA IPS Display

Desktop: Core2 E8500 | 4gb Corsair DDR2-800 | Gigabyte EP35-DS3L | 250 GB HDD | MSI GTX460

1) Thank for your infos.

2) Dell precision-m6600 is ok (but only 1920x1080 display :( ).

Memory: 4 DIMM slots: up to 32GB 1333MHz; Or up to 16GB 1600MHz memory

3) But can somebody explain me, why with DDR3 1600MHz ONLY 16GB RAM supported :( ,
not 32GB supported like with DDR3 1333MHz ?

thanks

What do you mean only 1920x1080 ? the difference between 1200 and 1080 isn't noticeable(especially on a notebook)
As for RAM,even 4GB is totally OK with today's apps/games.Some people choose 8GB because they're quite cheap now but I really don't see the logic of getting anything higher than 8GB.
What's your usage that requires 32GB RAM ?

Hi, thanks for answer.

I am SW-Developer and always on road, so i need so as a laptop!
I run VMWare with more linux-instances to test web-cluster with web-server, app-server, db-server, ....!

8GB RAM is fine for those tasks, also it offers the best price/performance ratio currently

I know someone with one of those high end Alienware "laptops". It doesn't stay on his lap for more than a couple minutes.

Of course, the more you pack into them the hotter they're going to get. Those big ones aren't called desktop replacements for nothing.

If you're watching videos, it doesn't matter...

If you are a developer, its a HUGE difference. Its completely horrid that technology continues to advance, and vendors decide to go completely backwards.

the new i7's dont support more than 16gb of memory so i think you are capped at 16gb.
