Dell vs asus laptop

Hello,
I am in the process of buying a laptop and I'd been looking at the ASUS vs a Dell. I am looking for an i5 processor, 4GB, 500GM hard drive. When I looked at the ASUS I noticed that there was no microsoft programs install. Some Dell have it.

I currently own a Compaq which is running slow and I am no longer able to do my work. That came with microsoft and window xp installed.
Anyone with a good answer please help.

Can you post the models you're comparing ?
Either way,having less software installed is better(less bloat-ware is always better)
