Settings for connecting laptop to tv

I connected the Video cable > pressed Win key+P and clicked o dulpicate and I do not get a picture on the TV > What do I need to do next ???

change the channel on the tv to match the input type.
example: if it is connected via hdmi the tv should be on hdmi1 or hdmi2

And if its just connected with VGA you will NOT get any sound from the TV...
