For some reason I am unable to find the "reply" button in the threads otherwise I would have posted in the other thread I started...don't seem to remember having that problem in here before..he he..

Anyway...I plan on installing XP Pro but am still going to keep WinME installed on another drive so I can still use my printer and scanner which XP does not support.(Thanks a lot Bill!)
So if I have say a gig or two of DDR RAM on my snappy new mobo, what is WinME going to do when I boot it up?

Thanks again!

Oh yea...where the heck is that "reply" button?

By this time you should be able to get the printer and scanner WinXP drivers you need from the printer and scanners manufacturers website, thats how I got mine.

Thanks for the reply 4ryan6...

Wierd tho...I can now see the button right where it should be, but when I clicked it before I kept getting the "personal message" form.

I'll check for those drivers...:)

Some drivers can't be found. Some manufacturers refused to make any.

The Canon 5100 is an example.

Some have had luck using Win2000 drivers, but they're sketchy, some features don't work, and in my case they didn't work at all.

it will just use 512MB out of the 1 or 2GB. It will still work.

BTW, what is the printer and scanner model?

HP has XP drivers for the ScanJet 4200C and claims that XP contains drivers for the DeskJet 697C so I guess I'm covered on that score.

I'd still like to keep WinME on a drive for running some games and freeware etc. that I'm pretty sure won't be updated to XP...not to mention some older games that like Win95 or DOS that I have on another drive. But maybe if I get to poking around in XP I'll discover a way to get some of them to work...not all that knowledgable about XP.

Thanks for the help guys!
