what do you have a kit or the chip?
you will need a floppy disk controller like the i8072
89c2051 has just 2k of EEPROM, difficult to write all the disk access code, plus have the monitor (BIOS) and still do something useful.

try upgrading to a 89C4051 or better. its pin compatible.

This is the CPU forum, not the lets make mods for my fax machines forum.

You might want to try in the catagory "Other"

My suggestion would be to buy a new fax machine with the options you want or use a PC as a fax machine.

89C2051 is a CPU alright! and its made by Intel. Well, the one thanawat is talking about is the clone made by Atmel.

But its a CPU, well its a microcontroller, a CPU with inbuilt peripherals in short supply.

It's even on Intel's website. But since he is talking about the fax machine (difficult to attach a 3.5" floppy to a processor), this might be better in the Network, Internet, Communications forum.

well, he asked about the FAX in some other thread, here he is asking about using a floppy on a microcontroller. The microcontroller makes a computer, as well as other consumer electronics items.

I guess my earler post has pretty much answered his question anyway.
